Must I Be Forgotten?

Bribing myself from day one,

Collecting memories one after one,

To live a little bit longer,

To stay in tune for one more night.

“You have to trust the process,” they say,

But I start to fight.

“Why me?” My questions are redundant.

“Then who else?” They reply.

Frolicking through the chessboard

From one corner to another

I forget if I’m a horse or a queen

No time to take a break in between.

But I’m the one who was cancelled long ago

It’s time to leave the white and black board.

“Sayonara” says the life himself

“Oh, that’s it?” Says I with astonishment,

“Mhm! You’ve got what you wanted.”

And now I lie down with ease and just,

Will be forgotten cause I must.
